Description

Like Lenters' other two works in the collection, this painting shows a masterful handling of vivid colours and the imagery of the natural world. The rocks and ocean are rendered in an incredibly detailed manner, contrasting with the stylized red snapper in the foreground in both colour palette and realism. The snapper figure is not immediately discernible as a fish on first glance, mainly because it appears to be sitting on dry land, creating a sense of unreality.
