Driscoll’s three-metre wide diptych of a shoreline and its reflected image on the water is given an unearthly, vibrant atmosphere by the artist’s signature use of brightly-coloured, iridescent urethane paint. The unnatural shades of the sky and trees almost create the effect of looking at a photo negative. The viewer does not focus on the whole image at once due to its size, creating an immersive effect as though one is there on the shore themselves, gazing at the panoramic view of nature.Collection
