The Impression of Something RealEntry/Object ID
HUM-2013-00017Description
This work draws inspiration from the unreliability of memory in relation to place, creating a visually evocative, expressive work. The iconic “house” shape appears in a number of his other works, creating a unifying element that evokes the subjects of home and memory that he wishes to engage with. The sketchy style of the work and the presence of relatively spare elements on a white background are the artist’s way of representing blanks in his memory of a particular room, filling in that space with words and images to convey a feeling of being in that particular place rather than visually recreating it.Artwork Details
