Grain Belt Beer was produced by the Minneapolis Brewing Company, which was active from 1893 to 1967. The Minneapolis Brewing Company was formed when four breweries merged to combat pressure from foreign companies moving into the American market. These breweries were Germania Brewing Association, Heinrich Brewing Association, F. D. Norenberg, and John Orth Brewing Company. The first beer that was collectively produced following the merger was Grain Belt. The Minneapolis Brewing Company and Grain Belt Beer both experienced great success until the beginning of Prohibition. This Golden Grain Belt Beers sign depicting a young girl with roses is a cardboard poster produced in the early twentieth century and was likely displayed in saloons.
