This wide-brimmed hat is woven from natural palm fiber using a diagonal twill plaiting technique. The crown is tall and conical; a thin twisted cord in red and white encircles the base of the crown, tied loosely at one side.
The brim is broad, slightly undulating, and features a wide decorative band at the outer edge, woven in a vibrant checkerboard pattern of dyed pink, red, green, and natural palm. The edge is reinforced with a band of blue plastic or vinyl, stitched to protect the rim from fraying. A small accent of plaited pink palm fiber adds a decorative flourish near one side of the brim.Dimensions
