Description

This handmade balance scale consists of two shallow, round baskets woven from palm fiber, suspended on either end of a wooden crossbar by twisted natural-fiber cords. The crossbar is made of a single, smoothed wood slat, notched at both ends where the cords are securely tied. The center of the bar features a knotted loop for suspension, allowing the entire scale to be held from a single point for manual weighing. The palm baskets are tightly woven with slightly flared rims, and the overall construction is both lightweight and durable.
