"Devil Mask". Multi-colored wooden mask. Four high-relief carved snakes cling to face; two light green snakes with black oval splotches on body, covered with white small spots curl around the devil's eyes. Other two snakes are painted blue-green with yellow oval splotches on body, covered with tiny black and white spots and are upside down clinging to the sides from the devil's ears to his chin. Devil has round protruding eyes with projected eyeballs painted brown, outlined in red, gray, and white bands, and black pupils. Sharp pointed ears are painted black, interior red, outlined in white forehead and has worry lines painted blue, red, white with yellow. Two horns protrude from forehead painted red with brown and have incised decorations painted white with black. Overall background painted black with red-brown, under eyes stripes of yellow and white. Long protruding nose with flat oval nose tip. Nose has two carved holes as nostrils. Bands painted red, blue black yellow and white. Mouth painted dark red with long carved tongue solid red. With white sharp and curved teeth; two on the upper lip and the other two on the lower lip. Ten square carved teeth painted white and touch of gold on eyebrows and nose.Artwork Details
