A pair of handmade leather sandals (huaraches) designed for a child, featuring an intricate interlaced upper composed of thin, natural-tan leather straps. The front is reinforced with two horizontal suede bands, providing additional durability and structure. The soles are fashioned from repurposed black rubber with visible tread patterns and are affixed to the leather insoles with numerous small metal tacks. The heel and side construction are consistent with traditional indigenous shoemaking techniques, with visible hand-cut and hand-woven details. Wear patterns are evident on both the leather and soles, indicating prior use.Ethnography
