Description

Huichol belt/sash. A 4.5’’ wide double-weave belt in wool with a geometric pattern in beige and dark brown. The design appears in inverted colors on each side. On the belt’s face are two vibrant pink lines that decorate its two lengthwise edges. The belt’s ends have thin beige and brown stripes and are fringed. Most likely a men’s ‘juayame’ belt. The repeating motif might represent the leaves and flowers of the maguey. See notes for more information.
