Description

Man's belt/sash. Long, wide, hand woven rectangular textile piece with stripes and intricate geometric designs on its ends. The sash is overall indigo blue with crimson red stripes, and within each stripe are thin blue and white lines that run along it horizontally. The sash has a brocaded section on both its ends (within two red stripes; instead of a blue stripe) in the traditional Mayan design style. The brocaded section has a white plain weave, and red, blue and yellow supplementary weft yarns. It features diamond shapes, undulating lines, diamond-like spirals, and other geometric forms.
