2025.01.13Description
This is a hand-carved wooden floor stool, fashioned from a single solid piece of wood. The stool has a rounded exterior and a hollowed-out center, forming a channel-like seat. The exterior surface is smoothed but bears visible tool marks and wear from long use. The seat area is heavily worn, with splintered grooves running lengthwise, showing evidence of regular contact and pressure. A notch cut into one end likely functioned as a handle or slot for easier lifting. The underside bears a hand-written inscription, possibly a maker's mark, noting its place and date of origin. The stool rests on a flat underside that allows for stable placement directly on the ground.Ethnography
