Vest. Papantla, Veracruz. Totonac Indian. Velvet fringe, cotton embroidery threads, sequins. c1984. Formed by semicircular "bandanas", two sets joined by stiching at one end. Black velvet with bright flowers, birds, and greenery embroidered over much of surface. Sequins and beads sewn on around flowers. Gold fringe sewn along outer curved edge of all four pieces, up to 3"-4" from end. Dusty.Artwork Details
