Description

This handmade toy is constructed from twisted and cut sheet metal and wire. It features a central twisted metal shaft with two horizontal curved strips forming a spherical or gyroscopic frame. One end of the shaft has a flat rectangular paddle, while the opposite end terminates in a point or small handle grip. The overall construction is lightweight and carefully balanced, designed to spin or rotate when manipulated by hand—likely a form of a traditional zumbador or spinning toy. The metal surface is oxidized in places, with areas of darkened patina and wear consistent with age and prior use. Its functional simplicity and handmade form reflect regional folk ingenuity and popular play traditions in central Mexico.
