Description

This child-sized wool tunic is composed of handspun, undyed sheep's wool, woven in a twill structure on a backstrap loom. The garment consists of a single rectangular panel folded at the shoulders, with an opening slit at the center for the neck and sides. Both horizontal ends feature fringe left from the unwoven warp ends, twisted slightly to avoid unraveling. A set of three narrow stripes—two red and one green—made from commercial yarn is inserted near both ends of the tunic, providing a restrained decorative element. The texture is dense with visible evidence of high-quality spinning and consistent loom tension. The wool has developed a smooth patina from wear and finishing.
