Description

Cantaro/Large Pitcher. Ticul, Yucatan, Mexico. Miguel Antonio Tzum Uicab (Maya). Red-orange clay pitcher with spherical body, short neck, round mouth with small lip for pouring; curved handle; body of pitcher has two small birds also in relief; neck, base and handle have clay indentions for decoration. Lid is convex, red-orange clay; single bird at top center of round lid. Size: 3 1/2" x 4 7/8" diam (8.9cm x 12.4cm)
