Description

This traditional charro-style sombrero is made from wool felt, molded and stiffened using a hat form specifically for shaping wool. The hat features a high, sharply peaked crown and a wide, upturned brim, both reinforced with concentric stitching to maintain structure. The outer surface is a rich, red color and decorated with geometric embroidery motifs in natural cotton and wool threads in tan and green. These motifs include angular patterns around the base of the crown and brim edge, executed with precision and symmetry. The inner sweatband area is lined with pink cotton fabric, stitched to a tan leather or synthetic strip, and includes a green and yellow braided chin cord for securing the hat during wear.
