Description

Two color prints of houses on the west side road with notations about the original owner/builder. Notes read "William Stone and Shubael Williams were first settlers on Islesboro. The "ell" was built in 1771. Stone came from Machias, ME; his wife Lydia from Mystic, Conn. She arrived here with the Williams aboard a "Pinky" The Stones later built the Cape house across the street. Around 1898 Costello Williams built the larger part of the house. The hill behind the "ELL" house is called 'Stone Hill.'" The house with the ell is painted red/brown, shown with a rose garden in front, would be the Stone/Williams house; across the West Side Road is the Pendleton/Border house, a white clapboard 1.5 Cape with add-ons.
