Canvas covered. 8" x 10" pages, some torn out. Writing and math practice, accounts, diary entries, navigation records, verses, sketches of vessels, drafts of letters, logs of voyages. On the cover is written, "Calvin Sherman Islesboro" Calvin W Sherman b. 7/30/1828, son of Isaac Sherman and Susan Ames, became "Capt.", served in the Senate (Maine) in 1882 and in the Legislature twice.
