The netting stand measures 33 1/2 inches x 15 1/2 inches x 15 1/2 inches. Table has two shelves and a flat area at top. Each part is enclosed by molding. A small drawer is at top. 3 metal hooks protrude from top, just below molding. Other holes, probably made for other hooks, are evident. Gray paint is worn in many places. Special Significance: A family netting stand about 120 years old (c. 1865). Constructed by Yeaton Dodge for his daughter Faustina Randlett.
Used for holding spindles for twine and needles, and for attaching the tops of fish and crab nets as they were being knit. Up to four people could work using this same stand, one at each corner.
