Description

EDISON STANDARD PHONOGRAPH: Set in wooden carrying case, measures overall 13 1/2 inches long x 11 3/8 inches high x 9 3/4 inches deep at largest dimensions. The removable cover is affixed to the base by means of metal locking devices on either side so the machine is portable. A handle for winding the mechanism is attached to right side of machine. A metal cylinder 4 3/4 inches long x 1 3/4 inches in diameter attached to a drive wheel extends from the left side of machine. From the center of the right-hand end of the cylinder is a pointed end which fits into metal arm measuring 4 1/4 inches long. A knob on front of arm allows it to swing to the right so record cylinders may be changed. A needle holder is mounted on a rod in back of the cylinder and can be raised and lowered.
