This scrapbook page holds seven newspaper articles. One is dated November 23, 1971. Presumably, the others are from around the same time period. Most of the articles highlight news at the Islesboro school. Subjects range from PTA Sessions, Adult Education, and Graduating Seniors, to the organization of an AARP unit. One large article that bucks the primarily academic trend is written about the island's reflections one month after a visit by President Nixon. A large picture on the page is of Lee McCorrison and a 70 year old pumping engine, which he fixed and restored.
