Description

Handsome large pitcher, off-white, two-gallon capacity, made of lead-glazed earthenware. Three transfer designs in blue: the encircled names of William and Jane Boardman; the words Peace, Plenty, and Independence; and a drawing of President George Washington. The pitcher is supposed to have been purchased in Liverpool by Captain William Boardman, third son of Joseph Boardman, reported to have participated in the Boston Tea Party.
