This is a single page from a letter which was evidently longer. It is on blue paper, 10" x 7 1/2"
It has been folded so that the back of this page makes an envelop. It is addressed to Mr. Gamaliel R. Pendleton, Islesboro' Maine. On a part which would have been covered when the envelope was folded are the words, From H.P.Hanson China May 14/46.
The salutation is to Friend Gamaliel, and this first page is about how the writer has owed Gamaliel a letter for a long time and the ways in which he has been too busy to write, e.g. preparing for college, now in college in Waterville. G- has lost his father and Hanson waxes religious on this.
