Description

4 3/4 inches x 4 1/2 inches x 7/8 inch. Square piece of wood. Round medal 2 1/2 inches in diameter, showing masted ship. Rectangular metal piece below with inscription. Original Inscription: On round medal: Old Ironsides Launched 1797 1804 Tripoli, 1812 Guerriere Java 1815 Cyane Levant. On Rectangular medal: This material was taken from the original hull of the U.S. Frigate Constitution. Keel laid in 1794. Rebuilding 1927.
