Scope and Content

One small tri-fold card/pamphlet advertises for the summer season of 1912 at the original Islesboro Inn. The lettering on the card is printed in green and it gives the dates of operation for 1912, a description of the Inn's features and accomodations, and the person to whom one should make reservations (David H. Smith). Inside the pamplet, a photograph of the Inn is affixed to the back of the card. On either side of the photograph is more green lettering under the heading "Routes". This gives several descriptions on how to reach the Islesboro Inn Wharf from New York or Boston by Water or by Rail. The entire back of the card lists the names of the well-known cottage owners in the area and the cities from witch they come. 2) 3 brochures for the 2nd Inn (c 1920?) include pictures and lists of "Persons Identified with Dark Harbor, Maine" as a marketing ploy.
