A piece, probably the stem (structure at bow of ship) of a coal ship/barge/scow abandoned in the Coal Wharf Cove many years ago. Found in the mud and hauled to a shed on Hewes Point by Rodney Woodman and his son-in-law Clayt Brown.
Of interest as a remnant of the Age of Sail and indicative of the fate of many Islesboro ships from schooners to scows.
