Front of drop front is decorated with a brass plate keyhole cover and 4 triangular pieces with 2 smaller triangular pieces within each. 38 3/4 inches high at back, sloping to 28 1/2 inches at front. Drop front open reveals 12 pigeon holes and 8 drawers with brass pulls. Rectangular piece of inlaid wood with narrow strip painted black outlining that section adorns each drawer. A piece of fabric-covered wood 19 inches x 7 1/2 inches is in front of the drawers. It covers a drawer space in the body of the desk which cannot be opened from the outside. On the front of the desk are supports for the drop front which can be pulled out. Between them are two sham drawers 14 3/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches. Below these shams are: One drawer 14 3/4 inches x 4 inches, another 14 3/4 inches x 5 inches, and the bottom 14 3/4 inches x 6 inches. These three drawers have two brass drawer pulls each and a center brass plate with a keyhole.
