Two envelopes saved by Marcellus Williams family.
1. Addressed to Mrs. Eudora Pendleton of Islesboro from S. B. Pendleton, dealer in Musical Instruments and Sewing Machines, Stockton Springs, Maine. Postmarked July 13, 1884 or 1894. Two cent stamp. No contents.
2. Addressed to Mr. Robert Bahrenburg of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, from M Williams, USN, USN Receiving Hospital, San Francisco, California. Postmarked May 16, 1945. Five cent stamp. The envelope displays the "Big Four" of the Peace Conference held April 25, 1945: Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin, and Chang Kai-Shek. Inside: a card advertising Allied Peace Conference as the "world's greatest event," listing the attending countries.
