1861 Pass signed by Drake DeKay, Aide de Camp, by order of General Mansfield, Commanding, from Head Quarters, Military Department of Washington. On reverse, Stephen Mansfield signed the pass and statement "on his word of honor that he is and will be ever loyal to the United States" and if not "the penalty will be death." Is Stephen the General, a relative, or just has same surname coincidentally?
