Postcard Christmas card, from Robert and Maureen Rothschild to Mrs. Teri Bates, Islesboro, Maine, postmarked December 14, 1976. Front of card is a drawing of the Rothschild cottage: "Merry Christmas from Robert & Maureen Rothschild, Greyledge, Dark Harbor" On the verso in red ink: December 1976 The color of autumn deepens on the islands of the Bay-- The salty breeze over the ocean fans away the fading glow of the morning moon-- Trees are frosted, leaves fallen and the westerly wind is blowing-- We seek the warm fire, the closeness of friends--as the snow quietly floats and drifts--along the path that leads to the door.
