The pickle tongs measure 11 3/4 inches long, made of 2 strands of metal that are doubled on themselves, forming a loop at one end, then twisted together for 3 1/2 inches, ending in four straight strands 5 inches long. Each strand ends in a hook. When the strands are spread apart the hooks are used to grasp pickles and like foods. When not in use the strands are kept together with a ring of metal which slides down from the twisted area.
