Letter 5 May 26, 1876 to W- in Newport Mass on Bord Schr fredread (?) " the folk is Well all but Jim P He has got the scarlet fever ..." and Sarah does not feel well.
Letter 6 dated 6/26/1876 "all the foulk is well at present all but me ...about the same...weaker...whent down to Ann Warren yestday and like to have finished aWay...for I have give up all hope of Ever being Enny beetter you may think that I do it to Worred you but I do not ...I have yet to give up this world If I do not get help and that soon do not think anything about It you Will soon forget the past ..."
