From the card taped to back of drawing: "Charcoal drawing by a travelling artist of a cabin which is typical of those in use here, before the settlers built their homes. This was drawn under direction of Joshua Farrow of a cabin on land of James Trim (behind the Harold Hammond house). Given to the Islesboro Historical Society by Dorothy Hammond (Mrs. Harold Hammond). The frame was made by her grandfather Joshua Farrow."
