Thick leather photograph album, 8 inches x 10 1/ inches x 2 inches, binding torn and broken; on front of album part of a broken metal clasp remains. Elaborate scrolled initials HBM (ABM?) embossed on front cover. Album contains cabinet cards, posed studio photos, and amateur photos of various sizes, some loose from their paper frames; small tintypes in the back pages. Advertisement for the Twenty-Sixthy Annual Session of the Temple Heights Spiritualist Camp Meeting in Northport , Maine (1908; 2015.026.029) inserted inside the front cover.
For the most part, one cannot see whether photos are identified on the back without tearing the paper frames.
From an already torn frame, a cabinet card of a toddler in a white dress with dark button boots sitting in a wicker chair is identified on the back as Lucy Brown of Greens[?] Landing, Me. Opposite this image, also from an already torn frame, is a portait of a young woman with short curly hair and wearing a dark ruffled blouse or dress. She is identified on the back as Miss Louis Hamilton. A cabinet card of a woman in a dark dress is labeled on the bottom of the paper frame as Mabel Duncan. A studio portrait of a bundled-up baby on a fur-covered chair is identified on the gray cardboard cover as "Mrs Benson[?] R grand child."
In one of the frames is a black remembrance card for Laura E. Perry, Died June 17th, 1890. Aged 18 years, 10 months, 11 days."
