10/9/1842 letter from Robert Trim Jr to brother Elisha from Charleston. He sold lime into a bad market (3000 casks "afloat" in Charleston) for 75cents per cask. Business is worse than last year and he advises his brother not to take "that Brig to Belfast". Capt Thomas is "a gowing to Neworleanes with a cargo or wrise at $2.00 per cask" (sic) and Capt Frisbey died in the hospital about 3 weeks ago.
The writer Robert died in New Orleans in October 1843. Fever epidemic?
