Folded, the fan is 7/8 inch long and 1 1/4 inches to 5/8 inch wide. Wooden slats taper from 1/4 inch to 7/16 inch thick. The slats are tan colored, curved at end where they are attached (bottom) and straight at the top edge. At the bottom is a metal ring with a string tassel attached. Open, the top edge of the fan measures approximately 15 inches. The paper part is 4 1/4 inches wide. On one side is a picture of flowers and three ladies in Oriental dress. In the center on the other side is a picture of a shield with the words, "Vautine's Oriental Perfumes".
