TAB 4
--CEH correspondence, primarily to his grandson Donald Nielsen, giving thoughts on his lifetime, ancestors and family (Feb. 28, 1974, March 19, 1974, August 16 & 21, 1976, September 14, 1976). Interesting story about the sinking of his grandfather's ship, Dashing Wave, and Dashing Wave Farm.
TAB 5
--Loose photos, primarily from the 1920's or perhaps early 30's in Dark Harbor. Many of them were "loose" in the scrapbook described below. Many of the penciled descriptions were written by CEH's daughter in about 1978, with some occasional added notes. Not all of the photos could be identified, and some may not be Islesboro/Dark Harbor
SCRAPBOOK--MOSTLY 1920'S (or early 30's at latest) MOSTLY DARK HARBOR-FOLDER 1 IN ARCHIVAL BOX
Many of these are unknown, but about 1978 Eloise Hatch Nielsen (EHN), CEH's daughter, made notes on torn index cards and inserted them pages where some folks and scenes might be identified. I have numbered the pages and typed up the annotations per page-the page number is on the right hand side but refers to both left and right hand pages. EHN's notes are listed first, with occasional additional information added by me in italics. No guarantee that the identifications are correct. Some of the photos may be duplicates and were taken at about the same time as the loose photos at Tab 5 of the notebook.
