Pair of identical controls. Each has two handles, one 6 1/4 inches, the other
7 inches attached to a shaft measuring 11 1/2 inches. The handles have wooden knobs. Each control fits through a slot on a mounting base
3 1/2 inches x 6 3/8 inches. The mounting plates have a drilled hole in each corner.
SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE: When President Richard M. Nixon visited Dark Harbor as a guest of the Dreyfus's, he took a spin in their powerboat, Nellie. When the controls were replaced, the old ones used by Nixon were put aside for keeping as an historical memento.
