Square, clear glass ink bottle. Base 2 inches x 2 inches, sides 1 7/8 inches x
1 1/2 inches, neck 5/8 inch high and 1 1/4 inches in diameter (outside measurment). Bottle stopper. Neck approximately 3 1/4 inches in diameter, 9/16 inch long, top octagonal with friction ridges on side, approximately
1 1/4 inches in diameter. "Carter Ink Products" stamped on top.
SPECIAL SIGNIFICNANCE: Probably used in the Islesboro High School which occupied the present Historical Society Building until 1954.
ORIGINAL INSCRIPTION: "No. 19 Carter's Ink Products The Carter's Ink Co." on side panel.
On front "Carter's Blue Black Writing Ink."
