Description

A relief map of Islesboro and surrounding islands made by the Vacation Bible School. The map is painted on a piece of 3/4 inch wide plywood. Its dimensions are 48 inches x 72 inches. The map is painted blue and green. Islesboro and the islands are most likely made out of flour and water. The mainland is painted on. The map marks several institutions including: old and new post offices, old and new schools, churches, Town Hall, Masonic Hall, airport, golf, yacht and tennis club, Community Hall, Library, the stores and the Firs Barn. DATE OF ORIGIN: late 60's - early 70's SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE: Susan Clayson remembers working on the map in Vacation Bible School.
