This tool consists of three wooden sticks, two attached to the ends of the center stick (15 1/2 inches long) at right angles to each other. Each end stick is 14 1/2 inches long. The ends and the middle of each stick curve up so that the yarn which is collected does not tangle when forming hanks and does not slip off the ends of the sticks.
Spun wool is included for demonstration as to how it is placed on tool.
PERSONAL ASSOCIATIONS: This was given to enhance the textile exhibit in the Society's Museum and was used by her to make hanks of homespun yarn. Not of Islesboro origin.
