Wooden sign, streaked brownish-white color, 14 inches x 42 inches x 1/2 inch, surounded by an edging of 1/2 inch rope, varnished. The ends of the rope are secured by a reef knot at the top of the board. There are several knots mounted on the board starting at the top and proceeding to the right.

There is a middle panel in the sign (33 1/2 inches x 7 1/2 inches). Silhouette drawings of 10 sailing ships are depicted and named. In each top corner is a drawing of an anchor and attached rope. The background of the panel is partially painted in a robin egg's blue.
