A club of dense, dark wood, 28 3/4 inches long, 2 inches in diameter at the end and 1 1/2 inches at the "handle" end. There is some crude carving at the end of the club. The "handle end" contains many turns of flat braided "rope", 1/16 inch in width and made of coconut fibers. The turns of rope are tied into groups of 4. Most of the groups are broken but two groups are intact.
PERSONAL ASSOCIATIONS: This was brought back from the South Seas by donor's grandfather, Captain James C. Scott.
