Whistle made of heavy brass, 7 1/2 inches tall, 2 1/4 inch long neck with a closed top except for 2 small holes, bulging middle area 12 1/2 inches in circumference and narrowing down to 10 inches in circumference. The middle section sits on a hexagonal base, 3/4 inch thick and 12 3/4 inches in circumference. Extending from the bottom of the base is a coarsely threaded pipe which is 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Extending from the middle section at the base of the "neck" is a lever. The lever slants away from the body of the whistle and ends in a sharp curve. In the middle of the curved part is a hole that contains the remains of a wire. When fully operating, steam enters the whistle by pulling the wire and lever down, and the whistle sounds.
