Kerosene lamp base - 10 inches high, 5 1/2 inches in top opening, foot of base 4 inches in diameter, and 23 1/2 inches in circumference at its widest. The base is shaped narrow at the bottom, very wide in the middle and then somewhat narrow at the top opening. On each side of the base at its widest is a handle with fluted edges. The base is glazed white with blue decorations of a traditional Dutch design containing windmills, sailboats and blossoms and leaves.
PERSONAL ASSOCIATIONS: This lamp belonged to Charles Nash's (her husband) grandmother and was probably used on the island.
