Quilt, 95 inches x 82 1/2 inches. Backing of off-white cloth. Cover in broken star pattern. Colors: off white, 3 different colors of calico (red with gold flowers, brown with light brown flowers, and pink with red, pink flowers and green leaves).
Star pattern extends from the middle of the quilt to the borders. The star is broken by sections of white cloth of various shapes and sizes. The star contains the 3 different colors of calico alternating with one another. The top and bottom borders consist of two rows of alternating pieces of calico and white cloth, maintaining the broken pattern. In between the calico strips are white strips. The side borders contain 4 strips of calico, etc. The edging consists of the 3 different calicos and white rolled.
SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE: It was displayed in the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, ME.
PERSONAL ASSOCIATIONS: Quilt was made by the donor.
