Description

Khaki colored, World War II army jacket, size 38 R, waist length, waist band buttoned and adjustable for tight fit. Buttons down the front and buttoned shoulder straps. Two large pockets on front and inside of jacket. Eight small chevrons in rt. inside pocket. Patch of maple (?) leaf (black on red background) on upper left sleeve. Pfc chevron on left sleeve under patch, pin on shoulder strap. Pin has a blue "X" on white background with words "ARMIS STANT LEGES" at bottom. Left collar has brass pin (1 inch diameter) with embossed crossed rifles and "169" above. Right collar has brass pin with "U S" embossed in large letters. Blue braid surrounds right arm at the shoulder. PERSONAL ASSOCIATIONS: Worn by Bobby (Robert) Pendleton when he was in the army. It was rescued by Donald Durkee from the house of Robert S. Pendleton after it burned in Aug. 1996.
