Khaki service cap, flat on top, 11 inches in diameter, visor 2 3/8 inches wide in the front. Cap is 3 3/4 inches high in front and approximately 2 3/4 inches in back. An adjustable strap of black leather approximately 12 1/2 inches is directly above and resting on the visor. At either end of the strap is a brass button approximately 5/8 inch in diameter. The button has raised figures of stars, an eagle and an anchor. In the center of the cap above the visor and strap is a button of the U.S. Marines showing the globe, an anchor and an eagle at the top. On the underside of the cap are 4 ventilation holes. A brown leather head or sweatband 1 1/2 inches wide covers the supports that keep the hat from collapsing. The supports are made of interwoven wood or reeds.
