From the set of tools belonging to and well-used by Frederick A Lee, master mason of Islesboro during the first half of the 20th century. See book "Summer Cottages of Islesboro" p. 119. This all metal tool is 10" long with a movable metal blade which can be set to measure any angle from 0 to 270. The handle has an indented etched area to make it less slippery when wet.
