From the set of tools belonging to and well-used by Frederick A Lee, master mason of Islesboro during the first half of the 20th century. See book "Summer Cottages of Islesboro" p. 119. This chisel is 8" long with an octagonal shaft 1" diameter 4" long which expands to a flattened tapering blade 1.5" wide which in turn tapers to a 3/8" wide blunt edge for chipping stone or brick. The top is well mashed by hammer blows.
